a game started in previous versions of 08 can be continued in the patched version. save games are backwards compatible i.e. to confirm a successful installation start FM in your normal manner, load a save game and go to Options > Game Status and next to version you should see 8.0.2 Double click the new file that appeared on your desktop in the previous step and the patch will self install.
